Default Gate Marked Griddle

Probably nothing real special here, except that it's the first and so far only Gate Marked CI I own. The flaws give it some character, or at least more that some of the mass produced stuff. I got it for $4 at an estate sale. The top is cast really rough. Hard to see in this picture, but you can see the uneven flow of the iron on the top of the griddle. I plan to get it cleaned up one of these days.

Possibly a recast. The handle style and raised size number are more consistent with those from the side-gating era. If so, once cleaned up, you may be able to discern artifacts of side gates molded into the pan.
