Default Hello from SoCal

Hi!
Iíve been collecting cast iron for only about 6 months but dang, Iíve got the fever. I bought my first piece, a #7 Sidney last November while antiquing along the central coast and was immediately hooked. Since then Iíve researched and purchased several more pieces. Mostly from scrappers. I love the feeling of rescuing an old piece of rusty iron. I dove headfirst into restoration using both lye & electrolysis. Everything restored by hand never using power tools. Last month I was visiting my brother in Missouri and found a gem of a waffle maker. Iíve seen these Griswold square waffle makers with bailed handles but cannot find one with a low handled base, so I really donít know what I have. I absolutely love it.

I look forward to continued learning and growing my collection and of course to interesting discussions on this site

J. Gregory.
