Default Any Guesses?

This went into the Lye bath yesterday. No. 8, no fire ring, handle is wider than ďnormalĒ. Will have a better view of the bottom after a few days. Anybody want to venture a guess?

I'd put it back in for a couple more days, till that other black crud can be washed off.

Just my personal opinion, but Iím going with unknown maker. Even though it has some characteristics of a Wagner, Iíve never seen a marked or unmarked Wagner with that wide handle. Also without the incised number on top of the handle and no size number on the bottom it all points to unknown. If a fully marked one ever shows up with that wide handle then ok Iíll agree itís Wagner. I have one like it thatís pitted on the cooking surface but itís still a good user and I roast chiliís in it. When you have a lot of pans itís easy to have one dedicated to certain things. Egg pan, Cornbread pan, Fish pan, Fried Chicken pan, etc.
