Hello! I have been a lurker here for a while and finally joined to try to figure out what some of my estate auction pans were. While I have identified all those that were regular pans, I have been intrigued by this recast. I have never seen anything quite like it before where the casting is really, really poor but the machining on the inside is extraordinarily smooth, except for a raised wort type glob that is inexplicably stuck to the side. It was starting to rust after I cleaned it up so the seasoning is pretty poor but I thought it was interesting enough to share with the forum. It is complete with a sort of crooked number 8 and the most shallow heat ring I have ever seen and appears to have three, shallow notches in it that is not at the Lodge position. My guess is that someone took the material off to hide the gate mark but I am unsure. Found it in Central Ohio.
