Re: Spider Skillet? Camp Oven Skillet?
I checked the grey book and there is a picture of a Lodge camp skillet produced in the Blacklock foundry with that same flared out lid and raised numbers. It might have been produced by Lodge but...

Re: Gate Mark or not on ERIE skillet
I used to have a smooth bottom unmarked Wagner #8 with a sand shift that looked like a snake on the bottom. It set flat and was otherwise in very good condition.

Re: Spider Skillet? Camp Oven Skillet?
That's a nice find. I'm guessing it's BSR because of the way the lid flares out. I seem to recall BSR camp oven lids doing that. Again, it's just a guess.

Re: Please Help with Identifying Skillet.
I'm not sure who made the skillets. We have a couple of very similar pans, they are nice skillets, here are some pictures ours.

A friend of mine just answered my question about the #9, he said he saw one sell on ebay a couple of years ago. My friend found the #13 which was not listed in the Red Book so I guess we know now...

Re: Unique Heart Shaped Waffle Iron
Didn't there used to be some rule about the crown being placed on stuff that was made for the royal house? I may be thinking of silver marks. I wonder if it was true of all cooking utensils? It's...

Re: Martin Camp Oven
I don't usually like to bump an old post but I'm going to do it. In this old post I told EdgarLopez that Martin Stove and Range made a #9 camp oven. I based that information on the Red Book that...

Re: #12 AB&I
I'm not sure how old the skillet is, the company is actually still in business in Oakland, CA but I don't think they make cookware. I don't think it's very old, not something I would consider vintage...

Re: Day Trip Birthday Picking
It's a keeper.
The only difference I see between this #8 and the matching #10 we have is that this one has the single notch. Both of them are good quality skillets.

I am also curious about the Martin hamburger logo with a flat bottom. Did someone grind it off? I have never seen one without a heat ring.
