Re: Martin Camp Oven
Thanks for the reply. I did quite a bit of searching and couldn't find any others that were bottom gated or had the odd marking placement. I'm glad to have it either way. While I'm at it, what's your...

Martin Camp Oven
A few months back I came across this camp oven on FB marketplace for dirt cheap. Because I can't run my e-tank in the winter, I just put it in the pile
and didn't think much of it until last week....

Merry Christmas To Me
Just picked up my first camp oven and scallop/crescent bottom Lodge. Both are in decent shape and should clean up well. https://imgur.com/a/kyPUtXw

Here are some follow up pictures that I took this morning.https://imgur.com/a/K8NMdjY
The first one seems to solve the question of it being plated or painted. Fingerprint = Paint. Would it be safe...

Re: Columbus Iron Works Grill
I just looked it over again and it sure looks like plating to me, but I know just enough to be dangerous. I'll bring it out in the daylight tomorrow and take some more pictures and post them up.

Columbus Iron Works Grill
I picked up this Columbus Iron Works grill from a lady that said it was her grandfather's and that he had bought it new in the late 40'/early 50's.
After I drove over an hour to get there I saw...

Re: No Notch Lodge?
It's going to be a while on the pictures. I have my e-tank in a detached garage and have already drained it for the winter. Hopefully I will have a nice big stack to clean in the spring.

Re: Old Wapak
Great find, I have yet to come across a Wapak in the wild. The cook surface looks super smooth.

No Notch Lodge?
What did I buy? I really like old Lodge stuff and am hopeful that this is a early no notch #12. What's throwing me off is the roundness to the assist handle.
I was expecting it to be more squared...

Re: Why I Love Wapaks....
I like my single notch Lodge skillets because, like many, it was the first thing I acquired. Then while researching what I had, people seemed to give them no respect.
It didn't take long to realize...

Another #14
I picked up this skillet from a online auction. The pictures were not very good and from what I could see, everything looked like a crack.:icon_scratchchin:
My brain said let it go, as it wasn't...

Re: Got Lucky This Morning
This is how it turned out after the e-tank and three rounds of Crisco. The pan has obvious issues, but the lid came out quite nice.

Re: Griswold #7 Slant Logo
I have the #5,8 and 9 so far, and would have gladly paid the $40 for the #7. Not too sure I would have given up that ultra rare Ming dynasty beer tray though.:-D
