The best price that I've found for those is $89 if you order online from Walmart. I got free shipping and picked up at the store the next day.

I used to work in the auto manufacturing industry and was a die maker (not "dye" maker). Cast iron is used extensively to make dies. You can repair cast iron by drilling a hole through the piece...

You soak up the bacon grease with a paper towel?? Blasphemy!! I pour off the extra into a ceramic coffee mug and store in the fridge for those times when you need grease, but have none.

They didn't fry fat to make cracklings, they rendered the fat to make lard and cracklings were the residue left over. Sort of a reward for all the hard work.

A few days ago, someone posted about making pop corn where they added the kernels to a cup, stirred in the oil and then put it in the pot. I don't remember who posted it, nor can I find the post.
