Re: Warnick & Leibrandt Waffle Iron Question
I had a relative that used to heat his workshop with a big old coal burning stove (not a cook stove, one of the big tall ones).. .so I'm familiar with that coal burning scent. He used to smoke...

Re: Warnick & Leibrandt Waffle Iron Question
the only problem with all of the older style waffle irons that flip on those middle pins... is that you either need an open stove eye to flip them or you need to fabricate some sort of high base...

Re: Warnick & Leibrandt Waffle Iron Question
I've seen a scan of a sales flyer for them from 1851... I'm pretty sure the partnership changed over time... that would probably give you an upper and lower range for dates of manufacture.
info...

Re: Griswold #10 835 Dutch Oven
good luck on that trivet... you're not the only one looking for one. I got one at an auction earlier this year for less than $100... I've seen several others sell for more than that.

Re: Griswold No 6 Dutch Oven
there was a really nice #6 that sold last weekend at the dinkys auction... but it was the earlier, slant/erie bottom and plain top lid... I think it went over $400. The 'baster' ones seem to have...

Re: Some Pics from the Dinkys Auction This Weekend
I'll see if I got a photo of the whole set... it was interesting for what it was.. .but it had to have been plated by someone other than griswold... they were all just mirrors and the markings were...

Re: Some Pics from the Dinkys Auction This Weekend
The #2 was part of a set, 2 through 10... large block smooth bottom...seems someone had them plated and polished.. they sold them all together as a set for like 1800 or 2k... There are a couple of...

Some Pics from the Dinkys Auction This Weekend
there were some fairly rare and hard to find pieces for sale at this auction... I didn't buy any of the big ticket items, but it was interesting to get to see them in person before they were sold to...

Majestic Broiler (on Combo Waffle Base)
here's an interesting one... there are marked 'majestic' waffle paddles that go with this set... the base can be used for either the odd hinged broiler or the waffle paddles (obviously not at the...

Re: Anybody Want to Take a Guess on This One?
I've seen lots of 'asian' copies of 3 notch lodge pans... and they always have the notches in the normal places (9, 12 and 3 oclock)... sometimes they add an extra notch at 6... but I've never seen...

Re: Anybody Want to Take a Guess on This One?
I have one of the little wagner 'mercedes' pans... that would be a lot of modification to get the look of the #8 that I posted.

I'm stumped. At first I...

Re: No Notch Lodge?
that's a nice big old lodge, which could be preparing a lot of nice warm meals this winter rather than sitting in a rusty pile... I'm voting that you go ahead and clean it up and post pics. who's...

I'll start by saying that although it has an inset heat ring and 3 notches in the heat ring... it is NOT a lodge. Lots of oddities with this one.. size on top of...

Re: What is Largest Griswold Dutch Oven?
at various times they made plain lids (with no basting drippers) and slant lids (only marked on the inside of the lid), raised letter marked lids (these tend to be the most popular with collectors,...

Re: Another #14
I don't personally collect the 'number in diamond' CHF pans... but if I'm not mistaken the 14 is a pretty 'hard to find' one... and they tend to sell for pretty high prices (a lot higher than 60.)
