Re: “Faith, Grace, Mercy, Truth.” Waterman Waffle Iron, 1853

Thanks! This has turned me on to Waterman. I have bought another regular gem pan but will be on the lookout for the matching triangle, circle, oval gem pan, as well.

Perhaps my best piece of iron to date. This speaks to me like no other item in my collection.

Re: Wagner Sidney #7

Is it possible the heat ring was ground off? I don't remember seeing a smooth bottom for that age?

Re: Griswold Questions

Not sure I have come across a slant logo without heat ring yet. Although I haven't been doing this that long.

I will keep posting them as I complete them. I think I have some small block, CHF, and large block next. I try to get one pan done a day and then season a load on the weekends. Doesn't always work...

Re: Electrolysis Tank - Newbie!

I have this nice English pot that I was unable to fit sideways into my tank. So this is my first attempt at the reverse e tank. Seems to be working and I will scrub it out shortly.

Re: Wagner Hotel Waffle Iron, Griswold #11, Victor 723

Great pieces there!

Were they from a collector or someone that just had them? I am a story guy, I always like the story behind how people found them, why they had them, etc. Makes it a living,...

Re: Ok, Not Cast Iron.. .but How About Some Bottom Gated Griswold Aluminum?

This is great. I had one Griswold Aluminum Dutch Oven that cleaned up so well with just mother's and some carbon off. It sold within a day.

You did some mighty fine work there!

Re: Biggest Haul Yet - Lots of Work Ahead

That's the one. not sure it has 48 on it though. I threw it back in the lye for a bit just to get the last stubborn bits at the bottom of the tins loose.

Re: Biggest Haul Yet - Lots of Work Ahead

Will do. I will keep updating this thread. The first item to be worked on is the Erie No. 10 popover pan. Early version. Keeping that for myself since I collect Erie.

Re: Biggest Haul Yet - Lots of Work Ahead

Unfortunately not. I love fancy handles, too!

Most of the haul was Griswold large block logos. I was really happy to see a Slant 9 Erie. Looks immaculate. Several Piqua Smilies, a really nice...

Biggest Haul Yet - Lots of Work Ahead

I never thought I would be one of those people that would buy this much cast iron in one shot. Honestly, I just saw an ad on Facebook and away I went. There are some good things in that pile and a...

Re: Wagner Ware Pie Shaped Logo....

Just struck me as plated. The one I had was far darker, but I guess we will see! Either way, I like the pie logos!

Re: Electrolysis Tank - Newbie!

I believe Jegs does. I think you need to find a charger with a HOLD button. Ive seen guys buy them at a premium but they are very good, new, and are roll around.

I just found another one today so...

Re: Electrolysis Tank - Newbie!

Jegs makes them, I believe.

I found a few on Facebook Marketplace, flea markets, estate sales, etc. Don't give up!

Re: My "ERIE" Collection

Great stuff!

I just sold one of the only "Erie" 16 bailed griddles I've ever seen. It was likely right around that 3rd series, too.

I collect 1 and 2, myself!

Re: A Bit of Driving but Worth It

Thanks, all. Yeah I actually think the guy had two but sold one locally before I got there. I offered on both but came away with one. This one goes to the collection for a while.

Good news is...
