Are you going to season the bottom of the pan or clean it?

Re: New Lodge Blacklock Line

Smithey's #8 is an 8 inch skillet (#5). Their #10 is a 10 inch skillet (#8) at $160. Smithey is deceiving with their sizes.
Also Borough Furnace has a 10.5" at $300 and a 9" at $280.

Re: Cast Iron Care Insert & Griddle & Lid...

Nice carrying case for the griddle. Do they normally come with one or do you have to buy one?

Re: New Lodge Blacklock Line

True, but the design of the handle is nice and it's lighter.

Re: New Lodge Blacklock Line

A milled surface I feel was necessary to compete with the boutique skillets. They should also offer an un-seasoned version in the pans.

Re: New Hoosier

If you can, do both. The lye tank will do the bulk of the work while the e-tank will finish it nicely. I only have a lye bath, then the scrubbing begins!

I don't have a place to do an e-tank...

Re: Mystery Maker

Doug, it is clearly a G & C. The E appears to have another C around it.

Are there any European CI sites that can help with identification? I know about the Canadian site and of course this...

Re: #4 Skillets

Both are in great shape! They are hard to find, at least at a good price. The only #4 I have is an SBL enameled, rather common.

Great finds!

Re: Pricing of Cast Iron Cauldron

It looks like you have multiple cracks on the lip of the pot. A flower pot is all it can be used for really. I'm hoping you can get $75.

Re: Wagner Ware 1050 ashtray skillet age

Thanks Doug D. I'll use 1959 to 1967 range since the Made in USA generally seems to start around that year for a lot of CI.

Wagner Ware 1050 ashtray skillet age

I just bought a Wagner Ware 1050 ashtray. It has the stylized logo without Sidney O in an oval. I am trying to find out a date range for it. It doesn't have Made In USA on it. Thanks for everything. ...

Re: BSR 7S with Ghost 6

That is true, but this 6 is at 12 o'clock while BS&R places their numbers at 6 o'clock. Lodge places theirs at 12 o'clock and the font looks Lodge like except for the line under the 6.

Re: 3qt Enameled Pot. Any Ideas?

It reminds me of a BS&R.I don't believe they made any enameled pieces though.

It may have been taken by the owner to get enameled from a local vendor.

Re: Help Identifying Camp Stove

I'm not sure, but the second lid might be a Griswold or remade from a Griswold pattern due to the cross pattern on the underside.

Doug, did Griswold make this design under its lid?

Bob, I...

Re: Sad, Sad, Sad...

It might crack more. I wouldn't chance it since it is on the surface. A side crack maybe. Handles and bottom, I feel, can be disastrous.

Two Iron Mountain pieces. That would have been a great weekend for me. I can't find them in Georgia.

I have a Griswold #7 slant logo DO #2603. Unfortunately, it's cracked. The smaller DO's appear...

Re: Gate Marked and Enameled ?

Be careful of eating out of old enameled pieces. Lead was used in the enamel of some manufacturers. You could probably do a lead test on it.
