Dating a CHF Skillet?

Picked up a very nice Chicago Hardware Foundry #5 skillet. Hammered finish, very smooth cooking surface. No heat ring; smooth bottom.

Any idea as to when it was manufactured?

Re: Cahill Iron Works - Chattanooga TN

Excellent information.

Is it safe to assume that nothing marked Cahill was manufactured after 1921?

Given it's rarity, is Cahill more valuable as collector pieces?

Re: Bsr 14?

Thanks Doug.

Is it true that the "A" on BSR denotes the Atlanta foundry?

Is it heavier than normal? Rough casting? Large dimples? Might just be one of the dreaded mystery hammered skillets...

Re: Putting CI in Temp Storage

Jennifer, your best bet would be to ship them to Georgia. Nice and dry down here... :chuckle:

Seriously, maybe just spray them with a good coating of Pam and wrap individually in newspaper.
