WWSO bacon/egg breakfast skillet

I've been able to decipher that the two skillets marked 1101 are somewhat different, and the one with the round hole in the handle is older than the more ornate handle with pointed hole and thumb rest. Based on the TM & Logos section on this site, they were both made between 1935 and 1959, but where does the old one stop and the new one begin?
 
Unless there is a dated catalog clearly picturing or illustrating the different handle, there's not really any other accurate way to tell.
