Three Notch skillet with nickel plate?

Got these 2 #6 skillets and while in the process of stripping/cleaning it almost looks like the top one is plated perhaps with nickel? Puzzled by this as I was unaware of any plated lodge pieces in that time frame.

I don't think it's plated. Season it and you'll know. Plated pieces don't darken when seasoned.
