Reproduction vs Original Griswold pan/lid rack

I am somewhat of a novice when it comes to quality vintage cast iron. I have a pan/lid rack that is marked Griswold. Looks good to me, much better than the couple that I have seen for sale where the letters in Griswold are hardly readable. However, someone says the rack is a reproduction. This is what the person says: "You can tell because the back of the placard does not say patent applied for."

Glad I found this site.
Thanks for your time.

Yes the genuine say PAF.

Also, if the nameplate is not magnetic, it is a reproduction. They were sold in Antique Trader magazine about 20 years ago, two for $15.
