Question about letter on unmarked Wager.

Hello,

I just picked up this #10 skillet, which I believe is an unmarked Wagner, post 1960. My question is - what does the W stand for that's on the underside of the handle. I searched for other similar skillets and found one with an L in the same spot.

Just a marking in the particular pattern that was used to make the mold that cast the pan, as a means to identify which pattern a defective pan was made from. Working patterns were aluminum and could become damaged.
