No markings. Anyone know the maker?

Gatemarks don't really qualify as markings, they're just an artifact of a particular type of casting technology, Kind of a cool skillet, a transition from the old "fancy handle" era. But as with all bottom gated pieces with no markings, making an ID is virtually impossible. Appears to have heat damage, likely from an ill-advised "just throw it in a fire" cleaning.
 
I was just wondering if the heat damage will affect the cooking surface? Im thinking it wouldnt as long as its on the outside only?
