I found this to be rather ironic.

Kind of off topic but not entirely.

About 10 years ago, I bought a nice set of professional grade aluminum pots and pans at Costco from a demonstrator. They weren't cheap. I think I paid $600 or $800.

They really are quite nice although the what would be equivalent to a size #14 skillet walked during the move. The non-stick surface doesn't use the noxious non-stick coating as it's titanium bonded with ceramic. It's not as impregnable as the demonstrator suggested as one pot has worn through to the aluminum but that's due to us stacking in each other. We haven't treated them as well as we should.

Why is is ironic? The are made by Vollrath, still in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I had no idea until I actually looked at on last night. The do work nicely but NOT as nicely as cast iron. Plus food tastes better for some reason from the cast iron.
