Help ID this Bean Pot with an embossed star shape

Greetings,

I picked this up at the Washington County Antiques Fair in Greenwich NY during the first weekend of May 2014.

Any clues to the maker and possible vintage of this piece?

This bean pot is tallish in proportions and seems to be a No. 8 size.

The handle is distinct - in that it is thicker at one end where it joins the lid compared to the other end that is narrower.

The inside lid has an embossed star shape. There is also a number "3" and what seems like an "18" on the inside lid as well. There are no other markings on the pot anywhere else. I understand that the numbers might not mean anything other than casting mold numbers, but I have never seen that star shape before.

See attached photos.

Cheers,

David

To me, the outside of the lid says Lodge. I've seen an identical #8 lid at a flea market and it just shouts Lodge to me. But the lack of drip nubs and the presence of the star baffles me. I sure hope someone can shine some light on the maker and time frame of this lid. I have a guess, but that's all it is. Just a guess.

The only Star that I can think of is on the old "Erie" skillets. Maybe this is a cover for one. Not sure if they made lids or not tho?
