Griswold #262

I found a tea size #262 which I believe is real. (Very thorough comparison with the page here on the subject) I know they are worth $75-100 book value, but when I cross referenced eBay sold listings they averaged mid teens...I know a couple appeared to be repros...is this what drives the prices down? The flood of repros? They wanted $30 firm for it at the shop.

If genuine and undamaged, $30 isn't the worst you could do. I did, however, pick one up last week for just under $18 shipped. I have a handful in my collection, and don't think I have more than about $22 in any one of them. It would be hard to pinpoint the plethora of fakes as being at the root of lower prices on the genuine. I saw a fake at an antiques store last weekend, priced at $40.
