Gatemark Kettle Worth Saving?

My name is Andrew, I have a gatemark 8 I want to know if it is safe to use. It has lime build up inside. I put it on the stove and the outside bubbled green and wiped off with a rag. It doesn't smell like paint, but Idk.

Can't speak to safety, not knowing what it is. Electrolysis would likely take care of it. The lime build up is usually worth preserving as it has rust preventative properties, but I think worth sacrificing to get whatever else is on the outside off.

It's super easy, just make sure not to use chrome, stainless, or galvanized for the anodes, and make sure you have your polarity right.
