First cook in a newly restored skillet?

I have heard bacon, and that is always an option, but is there any other go-to options for the first few dishes in a new skillet to help with seasoning early on? Anything to avoid?

Some fatty ground beef for spaghetti. Set aside and sauté onion then mushrooms in the beef fat add more oil if needed. Do the tomato sauce in a separate skillet that's better suited for the tomato base.

Or chicken fried chicken breast in some oil.

Steve,

I have found that cornmeal bread or pizza works wonderfully. Something about their "doughy" nature that has it come out of the pan very nicely leaving next to nothing to scrape off for cleaning. A paper towel does the trick. Also, fried eggs works... low heat with a good amount of butter.

Some bacon has sugar and will stick like crazy. Grilled cheese or any other grilled sandwich with butter works well for me. They never stick.
