Cooking Tools #2

Wasn't sure how to approach this thread since my original post on 1-20-16 got a little bit off subject with the cutting board construction. I certainly didn't intend it to make anyone angry but simply thought it would be informative to see if we used our cast iron cooking implements (tools) as our predecessors did. The pictures submitted were awesome and I thank those that did so....wished there could have been more.
This site has been both informative and educational to me and it proves that you never get too old to learn something new. I came here to learn from both the threads being posted and the wonderful historical library we have at our fingertips.
Again....I apologize for any disagreements caused between members and hope we can all share information to make CIC the #1 place to gain knowledge.

I didn’t pick up on anybody getting upset. If you are OK and Doug can handle it, I believe most viewers enjoyed it. I did. Fun!

Not sure why you feel the need to apologise for anything. I certainly don't. When someone questions my knowledge without any provenance to back it up and then in effect calls me a liar when faced with the evidence in pictures as well as an internet reference to prove what I'm claiming, I'm not going to stand by and say nothing.

I have no problem with disagreement. As long as it is without being disagreeable. There is no reason to use language impugning the intelligence of another in order to make a point. MDFraley's concern I think, and also share, is that others who may have something to contribute or a question they want to ask may be disinclined to do so if they assume they're going to be sniped at.
