Cast Iron Mold

Back in 69 or 70 I was with a group that toured the John Deere Tractor Works in Moline, Ill. Seen them hand pack the sand delivered in wheel borrows, the prototype piece, follow it through the entire process till it was ground to final shape by hand grinders, and bolted on the tractor ready for painting. Never thought about it over the years till I started to gather cast iron cookware. Never dreamed how much that tour would mean to me in later life at the time. Puts a whole new meaning to the term "cast Iron".
