I want to get a #10 skillet cover to use with my lovely vintage skillets. However I'm not too keen on the absurd prices on ebay for lids. So, until I happen across something period-appropriate for a reasonable price, I'm considering buying a new #10 Lodge lid which I can have delivered to my door for $20. Does anyone know if the pour spout ears on a new cover are large enough to cover vintage skillets with larger pour spouts? My gut tells me no, that there will be a significant gap, and that this is a disappointment in the making. Just curious if anyone else has tried it.
(I suppose if there is a gap, it could be made serviceable with a bit of aluminum foil...)
