Griswold Clock

Not the real thing but for any of you wanting to repurpose broken or warped cast iron pieces you may consider doing like I did and make a clock from it. This LBL Griswold #7 was cleaned twice before I found a crack going from the pour spout down to the pan base. It was in one of the stacks of recent auction pieces so I don't have an exact price I paid for it. Got the clock kit at the local hobby shop for $20 and so far besides the chemical cost and my labor to restore it I'm saying less than $50. Any other brand I would have just dumped it in the garbage lol.

I like it, but I would've put the XII on the handle side and numbered from there since I would hang it by the handle.

I'm with you on this one Tony.
I have a couple I am going to make clocks out of and they will be the same as yours.
I just like the way it looks better than upside down.
