Default One big tea kettle

One big unknown maker tea kettle. I acquired this on a scrap pile this summer and unfortunately, the very thin bottom is rusted/blown out on one side. I've never seen one this big. The photos attached show it next to my Wood & Bishop (Bangor, ME) kettle. The W&B is 8" high and weighs 11 lbs, while the unknown one is 9 1/2" high and weighs only 11 1/2 lbs.

There's a gate mark on the bottom of the kettle and the lid. As you can see from the photo, there's an emblem in the center of the lid. I'm pretty sure the word over the emblem is "Trademark". Under the lid is "Pat'd June 1 1869" and 8 9 10 on a diagonal line. There's a 10 on the bottom of the kettle as well.

I was thinking the 10 referred to it being a 10 qt kettle, and that the 8 and 9 on the lid meant it would fit those size kettles as well. But, a recent posting from Doug makes me think the numbers refer to the diameter of the base that fits into a stove lid/eye. The base is 10" in diameter.

I found one on Ebay, but no indication as to the maker.

Does anyone have thoughts as to who made this?
