Haven't been here long, but, in my searching over the past few months, i have seen very little nickel coated pieces....and then, i find a nice wagner #8 with a nickel coating.
So, what percentage of pieces might have been nickel coated?

Probably a small percentage and maybe for one main reason; the plated pieces cost exactly twice that for black iron in the Griswold catalogs. I like to old nickel pieces that were first ground and polished on the outsides of the pans. Chrome holds up better than nickel but ages less gracefully so I'm a nickel kind of guy sometimes but never chrome.
Wagner did not chrome but stayed with nickel plating. Griswold did both after c.1930.

Hey, thanks steve!
At least at the moment it is the most valuable nickle piece i have....i can't wait to see how it cleans up...
