Griswold Slant "made in USA"

I was all excited about this slant Griswold #8 a lady sold me for a song last week. I figured it was pre- WW2, maybe even pre-great depression, but now I wonder whether the made in USA mark doesn't mean that it's of much more recent casting, like the 60's. Didn't we start stamping that on skillets in the 60s to prove American provenance or something?

It's no big deal, but I don't want to be bragging about my pre war Skillet if it just means pre-Afghanistan war.

Thank you for your comments and expertise.

I will post new foto this afternoon. The reason I didn't do it today was because you can't see anything like that on my existing photo "before" foto, but it's in the bath now and all should become clear in a couple of hours. I appreciate you all!

Okay, here's one "before" and two "afters.". Appreciate your help, and feel free to move this thread elsewhere.

Oh, and here is the inside. There is one pit that's noticeable, but the feel is smooth as glass elsewhere.

Well, it clearly does not say "Made in USA." Interesting older style handle. Looks like 1909-1929. Because of the handle style, I'd probably put it towards the earlier end of that period. Doug will know better. In the mean time, this might help you. http://www.castironcollector.com/trademarks.php

Oh, right, I got confused with so many that I am working on at the same time. Or WAS! I have more than I can use already and need to slow my acquisitions.

Thanks for the link and the feedback, Kevin. w

Yep, a slant EPU, my favorite series that Griswold ever made. I've got a #6 and a #9 Slant EPU and they are my work horses. Congrats, that's a great looking piece.
