I am lost on both these pieces...I assume the Griswold is a post 1957 piece...they wanted $15 for it and $24 for the French roll pan. Any info on either would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Definitely not post-1957. Nobody seems to know what the SPECIAL is about. The #8 is p/n A888, the #9 A999. Griswold made a #11 H-pattern French roll pan, but this is not one.

If the handle is in good shape, and there are no deep scratches, I would say $15 is cheap. I do enjoy restoring aluminum pieces, though.

Are they fairly common? The only problem is I'd have to drive about 40 mins. I haven't seen ANYTHING on ebay, nor the Internet.

No, they are not common. I have only seen one #8 ever. They are among the few Griswold pieces not marked ERIE that, by the LBL, were obviously made in Erie, PA.

I went and grabbed the pan, paid $13 for it. Is there ANY info on them? Why are they not listed in either one of the books, or apparently the Griswold p/n list?

They are on the BB Griswold p/n list; you have to look in the aluminum section.
