I picked up an 11 cup pan, maybe for muffins. The cups are deep. The "handles" are tubular on the bottom. One handle is marked "NO 01" on the bottom. One cup is marked with a B. The pan looks quite old and is somewhat heavy. The casting is pretty rough.
Sounds like a #10 muffin/popover pan. A design widely copied, the numbering conventions set by early makers were often followed. Apparently, some pattern makers forgot they didn't need to make markings in the reverse to be correctly cast into the finished piece. Either that or the marks were applied by a dyslexic foundry man when the mold was made.
