found this in a backyard, being used as a flower pot
i scarfed it up and cleaned it up using a 4 1/2" grinder with wire wheel
baked, greased baked again..on the bottom is an 8 and a H or R

A footed kettle, made for use on a hearth, or, with the right size stove eye, on a wood burning stove. Looks like it has possibly been overheated at some point in the past, as evidenced by the bent up bail.

footed kettle, thanks. its going to be used for camping, i have a metal hook that will be proud to have this hang from it

can you tell the maker of the trivet by the number on the underside? how old?
