$5 Unknown Garage Sale Find

Drove around this afternoon checking out garage sales. Asked at all of them if they had any cast iron cookware, even if I didn't see any. Two of them told me that they had, but it was gone already, but one said "No" at first, but thought about it, excused herself to go into the house, and came out with this. I got it for $5. It was her mothers... she never uses it, and said that her daughters wouldn't either. Its in the e-tank right now.

No markings at all, unless they're covered by crud, but it is a very distinctive shape that someone here may recognize.

Looks like it had a lid at one time:

Unmarked Wagner double skillet top.
Awesome!! That explains the glass-like surface! Thanks, Doug D!

(It obviously was cooked in just as though it were a skillet. It has a very nice seasoning on the inside)

I think I have the bottom skillet for that. I thought it was just a Wagner unmarked chicken fryer but now I think it's half of a double skillet.
I asked about it in an old post. It looks like this one that was on ebay with the assist tab. The handles sure look the same.

That would be awesome if they match! I'll take a measurement when it comes out of the tank tomorrow and let you know.

Dan, here are some pictures of the pan I have. If you are looking for any particular pan let me know, maybe I have one you would like to trade for.

Yeah, that sure looks like it! As discussed in PM, its yours for what it costs to ship it, plus the $5 I paid for it, but it may take me a few days to round up a box and some bubble wrap.

You've done an amazing job of cleaning that one up! I've partially stripped the lid, but pulled it when you said you had an interest in it. Got it oiled to keep rust at bay, but that's it.

If you have a spider logo Erie or even an Indian Head Wapak, I would consider a trade. Otherwise... yours for my cost.

No problem I have stacks of those old things. :icon_rofl: Not really.
I do have a bunch of #3 griswolds and a couple single notch lodges or a Wagner Ware skillet if you are interested in one of those.
