Wagner Waffle Iron

I recently bought a Wagner #8 1408 waffle iron. The patent date is September 1925, but is there any way to determine an exact year of manufacture? It’s a low base with coil handles and has the stylized logo. The base has a bale handle.

An exact year of manufacture is not discernable. The patent date appears to refer to one concerned with the design of the ball hinge. Wagner started using catalog numbers (the 1408) ca. 1924, so we can at least assume it's later than that, and obviously this one would be later than the patent date of 1925.

Cast iron waffle irons we phased out as electric units came into vogue. The 1407, 1408 and 1409 appear in an early 1940s catalog, but an addendum states the 1407, 1409 and their high frame counterparts are discontinued. So, they probably held onto the most popular size 8 a little longer. None appear in mid-1950s price lists.
