Default Need Help with Identification.....

I discovered this smooth-unmarked bottom, number 3 stamped on top of handle with 2 dots underneath handle CI in an old family storage building a week ago and started researching the processes of restoring this skillet and one other I found with it. I chose to first remove the substantial amount of rust with a 2 day vinegar bath followed by a 2 day electrolysis method. Prior to the restoring process, I could not identify any markings on the 5" skillet. After completion of the restoration methods mentioned, I saw a number 3 on the top of the handle and then tested a fried egg after four seasoning steps. These are the picture of the restored CI and thank you for any input.

Those have been dubbed "hammered ugly unknown" CI. A maker has not been identified. Probably from the era when hammered was popular, by someone trying to cash in on the trend. Cheaply.

Jeeez, I've been hanging out here here too long.

Before I read the previous responses, I was about to reply with the less PC reply that Doug gave above. On the up side I have some Very Ugly hammered pieces that perform just as well as any of the collectible pieces.

If you like it, Use it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Thank goodness.
