Default ID Help - Gatemarked with Interesting Handle

See pics, picked this up for 15 bucks. Any ideas on maker, recast, etc? I'm just gonna hang it up as is, it's pretty interesting.

that looks like a bottom gated copy of an early Erie or Favorite... the triangle attachment pad was pretty common in the pans from the late 1880's and early 1890's. It looks like there is a size down around 6 oclock (handle facing down)... I'd clean it up and see if there are ghost marks up around 12 oclock.

Thanks so much! Is there any preferred method for cleaning one this old, or just lye/oven cleaner/heat?

just don't do anything that could cause harm. lye bath or easy off is good for gunk, vinegar solution for rust... or electrolysis for both. no self cleaning oven or throwing in a fire, no power tools... the restoration page on this site has good info.
