Question Very Old and Gate Marked Cast

I`m fairly new to collecting cast iron. I have several pieces with gate marks, and I wonder if cleaning them in an electrolysis tank and seasoning them would devalue their prices. Any one have any thoughts?

Default Re: Very Old and Gate Marked Cast

Unlike many other collectibles, old cast iron cookware increases in value when restored properly. Old bottom gate marked pieces are no exception.
