Sacrificial Lamb Mold

I just picked up this lamb mold a few days ago. I was eager to put it to the test. I watched a lady on YouTube, really because I was curious to see how high to pour the batter. I’ll tell the truth, I was cautiously optimistic about what the end result was going to be. I made a carrot cake... I think it would have looked a lot better with a lighter colored cake. I’m flirting with the idea of a pineapple upside down flavored cake with the cherries inside. Maybe dice the fruit small and incorporate it into the batter. Maybe next time. Anyway, here’s this. ;)

did you put any 'supports' in the neck and ears or was the cake dense enough to stay all together?
we did a pound cake recipe and used like a tongue depressor type thing in the neck to add support for the head... the pound cake was really dense... probably would have been ok without it.

You did a fantastic job frosting your cake! I melted some frosting and poured it over and flicked some sprinkles on it haha. I read somewhere to use fruits for the eyes and nose. That’s a good idea too. To answer your question, I did not use supports at first. I think it would have been okay, but then I started to get worried. So, while it was laying down on its side after coming out of the mold, I slid a couple bamboo skewers through the bottom and up to the head. Just as a precaution.
