Can't Place This One...

Looks Asian to me with the thick heat ring and the way the handle is shaped. I can't prove it but i have held a lot of cast iron. Just a thought.
 
I was going to say the same thing . I've seen several pans that look much like that , but where marked Japan on them . Japan actually made some decent cast iron and I'm sure it would be a usable little pan .
 
The cooking surface is actually very well machined, and should clean up and cook very well.
I guess that since I had no idea what it was, I likely shouldn't have bought it.
Still learning...
 
Just my opinion: Quality iron is quality iron! Looks like a good user to me, and the handle shape may prove very convenient. Japanese pieces seem generally better quality than the Chinese/Taiwanese; hope that generalization holds true for your pan.
