Here are my latest acquisitions

I previously only had three peices of cast irion, two of which were modern. One other older piece given to me by my wife's grandmother. She recently passes away and I inherited her other pieces that we have come across. They really need some work.

Favorite Ware Dutch Oven, no lid

Looks like a Griswold, the mark on the bottom looks to be heavily damaged with rust/pitting. This one looks to have almost a stainless steel finish on the top of the handle. Is that simply from heavy use, or is there some kind of plating on there? Anything I need to be concerned with when trying to clean it?

Jeremy, my condolences to you and your family. That Griswold looks a little rough on the bottom but I bet it cleans up and makes a good cooker. I like to look for Pyrex lids at the thrift store to fit my lidless DO's. I can usually find them for $2 or less.

A lid for that Favorite should be an easy find. Pretty common. The Griswold is plated in either Chrome, or nickel. Most likely chrome knowing griswold.

The square skillet is a Birmingham Stove & Range.
