Gate Mark pan question

I am pretty new to this, but it might be worth cleaning the skillet all the way to look for possible ghost markings on the bottom.

Thank you Doug. I trust your opinion. What features do u refer to?

And Scott, what area of the pan am I looking?

Bottom gating on skillets largely phased out at the turn of the century. This pan's handle and shape appear to be early to mid-20th century.

Not from the photos available. If stripped so the bottom can be seen, it may give clues as to the maker of the pan the re-cast was made from.

Thank you Doug for advice on Lye bath, the gate Mark pan I was referring to is getting a bath, along with a small label Griswold #7 and a bsr #3.

I will post pics with updates.
