Default Mystery Maker

Can anyone tell me who made this oval roaster I found at a garage sale. Please see the attached pictures. The third picture is of the molders mark I found on the web, however no one knows anything about it. One person thought it was from a foundry in Germany.
Thanks for your help.

One like it was discussed here years ago. No consensus back then. Someone wanted to make it out as "Le C" standing for Le Creuset. I thought it looked like a G and a C.

Doug, it is clearly a G & C. The E appears to have another C around it.

Are there any European CI sites that can help with identification? I know about the Canadian site and of course this American site.
