Regarding the McClary DO, there is a picture of what I believe is that very same lid on this site. See the McClary section in the Canadian Mfrs area, 2nd picture: http://www.castironcollector.com/canadian.php

A bit about the foundry: http://castironcanada.com/index.php/en/makers/mcclary-mfg

This campfire cooking site rates them very highly: https://cookingonthetrail.wordpress.com/2012/06/01/cast-iron-cookwarea-cooks-holy-grail/

A few brands I actually give my two thumbs up on are these. The old, no longer made McClary’s, Older, Griswold and Wagner’s

Dan Farmer & RobM : wow I can't thank you enough extremely helpful info!! thank you

I'll make sure to fully check the site for research prior.. it's filled with mountains of Information!.. hands down my most valuable site, it's where I gain 85% of my knowledge the rest was all trial and error :chuckle:. Glad to be a Member!!

If you find any more Canuck cast, please post it up.

Found 90 foundries in Canada so far (and counting) that made stoves, ranges and furnaces - and many made hollow ware - but where is all the iron? Nice to see some old McClary pieces floating around the US.
