Default An Experiment with Pitting

OK...so I was given a Griswold #8 DO, no lid, and its in BAD shape. There is no fixing it. So, I have it in my yard on a mini haymaker, Im letting it sit with water in it and see how long it takes to make it worse. I hate to do this to a DO, but its beyond any fixing. I call it my Redneck Bird Bath, lol.....anyone else ever wonder how pitting forms?

You piqued my interest, so I went looking for an answer and this seems like a pretty good one.

Thanks for the link........very informative. I feel bad doing this to a DO, but it was beyond any fixing for sure.
