Great Find but.....

I just purchased a VERY nice early solid cast brass cooking pot. Hoping someone here can direct me to a source or sources that can help me learn more about it and clean off old paste polish buried down in the casting flaws.

Pictures of the whole pan, top, bottom sides, bail and any other details would be very helpful.

I have never seen a cast "brass" pan

Could not remove the old dried "Brasso" that was deposited in the many flaws inside, but Old English sure worked without harm.

Cool! It's looking good now. There is something that will remove the black with a toothbrush but I don't know what it is without experimenting. Fresh Brasso? Soft Scrub? Chrome polish? Vinegar? Efferdent? Salt paste? Silver polish? Toothpaste? Bar Keepers Friend? Google?

Looks like bronze to me. I'd try putting it in a lye bath for a couple of hours, it may clean the crevices, and will brighten up the rest of it.
