Recently purchased a vintage Skillet with a manufacturer's mark "C" inside a diamond. I can not find it's origins or age.

Not sure how to post photo.

Re: Vintage Skillet - manufacturer's mark "C" inside a diamo

Usually, those otherwise-unmarked skillets with a diamond at 6 o'clock have the size number inside it. The other characteristics of those pieces-- heat ring profile and handle shape-- have led most to say they are either late, unmarked Favorite or Chicago Hardware Foundry (CHF), who bought Favorite's patterns when they went out of business. Are there any other markings or ghosts?

The preferred way to add a photo is to upload it to a photo hosting account like flickr or Picasa and then link to it in a post. Photos of small filesize and dimensions can be added to a post from your computer using the Upload Attachment tab under the post composition window.
