A friend gave me a Wagner #2 skillet. It appears to be plated. Can anybody help me in determining its pedigree and value? I don't plan on selling it, but I am curious. I intend to restore it and use it. Thanks in advance!
From this site's Cast Iron Collecting / Trademarks & Logos section it looks to be a "Wagner Ware Sidney -O- Stylized Logo, High (1922-1959)". See Image 10 of 17 under Wagner Manufacturing Co in that section.
Welcome to the Forums, youll find everything you need here. In my opinion, its a fairly rare skillet, being that its a #2.....value tho, im not sure, but it does look plated.
The stylized logo (with Sidney -O-) was in use (on pans) ~ 1922-1959, but pieces with it but no catalog number fall in a far shorter time frame. This pan would be more like 1922-1924.
