Default Wagner 1059 Without “9”

I can’t seem to find other Wagner 1059 pans without the “9” on the top of the handle. Is this unusual?

Can anybody explain this?

Before catalog numbers, heat ring Wagners had the size number on the bottom and didn't need it on the handle. When the existing patterns were updated, the intent was likely to add size numbers to the handles, but apparently it didn't always happen consistently. Those with numbers on the handles are often seen with it off-center, as if it was hastily applied.
