Griswold Low Dome Lid With.. Diamonds?

I won this Griswold #8 low dome lettered lid at an auction and would love to find out any history on it. The logo is a bit smaller than the large block, yet bigger than the small block. The text and logo are oriented upside down when compared to other lids. It has a diamond on each side of the logo, as well. The patent is applied for. Anyone have some history on this item? Rare?

Both TMs qualify as LBL. The "large" refers to the block lettering, not the diameter of the logo. One would initially suspect the smaller diameter of the two was in response to the bases of the "applied" handle impinging on the logo, the artifacts of which being the "diamond marks" which can somewhat be seen in the inner circle of the larger of the TMs, although the "patent applied for" would suggest the opposite.
