Would bean pots have come with a lid?

Yes, some did. I have three matching #8 and one matching #7. Both lids and pots with gate marks. Most I have sold or traded were "wedded matches". New Lodge lids will fit some #8 pots without gate marks. I am constantly "lid looking" for the bean pot and spider skillet lids that may fit.

Depends on your definition of a bean pot. If a straight-sided flat-bottom kettle, they either came with one or one was noted as being offered, either specifically or a stock lid for something else but that also fit it.
