My New Find

I love this time of year I’m finding more stuff then ever. Or I’m just getting lucky. Went to the same flea market and found a Griswold #10 smooth bottom(LBL), a Wagner Ware S/O chicken fryer with lid, and a # 3 Wagner Ware S/O that the guy throw in for buying the other two. Tried to post pics but failed I’ll just try later.

Here are the pics.

I’ve been looking on online for a Wagner Ware chicken fryer. I don’t see any with this lid. Is it original to this fryer? Do you think it’s worth what I paid, $10?

for some reason 10's seem to be 'hot' these days... I had been looking for a 10 smooth bottom large block and didn't find any 'in the wild' for a couple of years... and the ones that showed up on ebay were selling for $150 and up... even small logo #10's are selling for $75 - 100 or more... I don't understand why... so your 10 looks to be an excellent find.

I eventually found a rusty one with a fully marked lid on ebay with a buy it now price under $100.. so I have mine finally.

I don’t own a size 11 through 13 skillet. I have several 10’s (not Griswold) and a couple of #14 Lodge. As far as practical use, a #14 seems too large for a standard stove eye. I’m not even sure if anything larger than a #10 will heat and cook evenly? I hope to have a #12 in the future and would like to see how it looks sitting on my stove and see how it works. With that being said a #10 would seem to be a popular size from a users standpoint.
